2025 Trip Away – Hunter Valley

What a fantastic four days away in the Hunter Valley. We were blessed with near-perfect weather — just a sprinkle of rain here and there — and even the sun came out to shine on us for a couple of days. Considering all the rain the Hunter had taken, the courses held up.

The annual trip away has become a fixture the membership looks forward to. Same formula as Canberra the year before: a few good tracks, a bus that somehow always leaves late, and a presentation of sorts that nobody would confuse with Augusta.

This is the club at its best. Not a country club. A social golf club that happens to play some very decent golf when the weather gods play along.
